Synopsis

This presentation will provide views of a private collection that includes historic, Irish scientific instruments, signed by the makers, and is focused primarily on navigation and exploration. It will outline the influences and scholarship that inspired the approach to collecting, studying, cataloging and displaying a comprehensive array of Irish instruments, maps, charts and paintings.

Biographical Details
Patrick Slattery is a retired, Registered Architect who resides in the United States. He is a 10 year member of the Scientific Instrument Society, a member of the Royal Dublin Society and a long time collector of maritime antiques dating back some 40 years.
